With 70 years experience and over 180 members, we are the largest Lighting Trade Association in Europe. Certainly a case of more function than fashion for the bedroom, however, finding an attractive light to fit your decor isnt a problem. As the bedroom is a room primarily for sleeping, the main lighting is the ceiling hung light fitting with a well choosen shade to match the room decor. In hotter climates, one could consider a fan on the light fitting to keep the room cool. Overstimulating the mind is not a good idea just before bed, so the lighting will need to be calming, tinted bulbs and not too bright. A table lamp or overhead wall light are ideal for the times when you read before switching out the lights. Some table lamps have a rheostat switch so you can adjust output. Some bedroom furniture has inbuilt low voltage/wattage lighting to create a relaxing atmosphere.
